Each Annotated Bibliography entry should be about 150 words long, and will briefly and concisely offer both a summary and an evaluation of the reading. Entries should demonstrate a critical thinking approach by incorporating a consideration of the following Critical Thinking Guidelines (NEIU, 2005):
1. ISSUE/S: Identifies and concisely explains the problem/question at issue.
2. CONTEXT(S): Recognizes the influence of the context(s) (i.e., cultural/social, educational, technological, political, scientific, economic, ethical, personal experience) on different stakeholders and on the issue. 3. ASSUMPTIONS: Evaluates the key assumptions behind the claims and recommendations made.
4. EVIDENCE: Evaluates the quality of supporting data/evidence and if the author(s) has provided additional data as needed. 5. IMPLICATIONS: Evaluates conclusions, implications, and consequences. Annotated Bibliographies are often listed alphabetically by author, but for the purposes of this course it will be helpful for you to also organize your Annotated Bibliography by module. Following the example used within the Required Readings lists, you are advised to stick with APA formatting for the citations.
